Kitchen Steward - Executive Dining Service

About the role

A well-groomed, experienced and professional Kitchen Steward is sought to provide food and beverage service and hospitality support to executives at the head office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The role reports to the Administration Manager or designated supervisor and works alongside the existing Chef, who prepares the meals. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Serve meals, beverages and refreshments to executives and guests promptly and professionally, set tables correctly and present food at the right temperature.
• Anticipate service needs during meals, meetings and engagements, clear tables and handle used items discreetly.
• Provide courteous, personalised service and prepare dining and refreshment areas ahead of meetings and engagements.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, dining areas and service stations, and keep crockery, cutlery and glassware properly cleaned and stored.
• Follow food safety, personal hygiene and sanitation standards, monitor service supplies and report shortages or equipment faults.
• Coordinate with the Chef on meal schedules, confirm requirements and special requests, and keep adequate stocks of beverages and condiments.
• Protect the privacy of executives and guests and keep confidential information out of the hands of unauthorised people.

Required profile

• Minimum of an OND or relevant hospitality training or certification; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in hospitality, kitchen support, food and beverage service, restaurant or hotel service.
• Experience serving senior executives, corporate guests or high-profile clients is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organisation and time management.
• Ability to work independently and respond to changing service requirements.
