Kitchen Steward - Executive Dining Service

About the role

A well-groomed, experienced and professional Kitchen Steward is sought to provide food and beverage service and hospitality support to executives at the head office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The role reports to the Administration Manager or designated supervisor and works alongside the existing Chef, who prepares the meals. It calls for a strong understanding of hospitality etiquette, personal presentation, hygiene and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Serve meals, beverages and refreshments to executives and guests promptly and professionally, set tables correctly and present food at the right temperature.
• Anticipate service needs during meals, meetings and engagements, clear tables and handle used items discreetly.
• Prepare dining and refreshment areas ahead of meetings, maintain a welcoming atmosphere and demonstrate formal dining etiquette.
• Keep the kitchen, dining areas and service stations clean and orderly, clean and store crockery, cutlery and glassware, and follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Coordinate with the Chef on meal schedules, confirm requirements, keep supplies stocked and report maintenance issues and shortages to the supervisor.
• Maintain a high standard of grooming, protect the privacy of executives and guests, and act with discretion and punctuality.

Required profile

• Minimum of an OND or relevant hospitality training or certification; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in hospitality, kitchen support, food and beverage service, restaurant or hotel service.
• Experience serving senior executives, corporate guests or high-profile clients is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organisation and ability to work independently.
