Hotel Pastry Chef – Full‑time in Abuja

About the role

The Hotel Pastry Chef will lead the preparation, production and presentation of all pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods for the hotel. This full‑time onsite role requires creativity, high standards of hygiene and the ability to deliver consistent quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of pastries, cakes, breads, cookies, croissants, doughnuts, pies, tarts, mousses and other desserts following approved recipes.
• Maintain high food quality and attractive presentation, monitor ingredient quality, and control portion sizes to minimise waste.
• Assist the Executive/Head Chef in menu development, introducing innovative pastry concepts and seasonal items for buffets, banquets and room service.
• Ensure strict hygiene and food‑safety compliance, proper labeling, storage and prevention of cross‑contamination.
• Monitor inventory, control costs, report shortages and support stock‑taking.
• Coordinate daily production with kitchen teams, meet event deadlines and support other kitchen operations as needed.

Required profile

• Certificate, diploma or professional qualification in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Chef or baker, preferably in a hotel or high‑volume environment.
• Strong pastry and baking skills, creativity, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and inventory management.
