Head of Risk & Executive Director (Nigeria)

About the role

RedotPay is a global crypto‑payment fintech seeking a senior leader to establish and maintain a robust risk management framework for its virtual asset service provider (VASP) business in Nigeria. The role reports to the CEO, sits on the Board as Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing fraud, operational, liquidity, compliance and market risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the entity’s risk management framework, risk appetite and key risk indicators.
• Oversee fraud risk controls, transaction‑monitoring rule tuning, threshold setting and alert escalation in line with Group policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, scenario analysis and stress testing where applicable.
• Manage operational resilience, including business continuity and disaster‑recovery arrangements.
• Report risk exposures, incidents and mitigation actions to the CEO, Board and group risk function.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Technology and Operations to embed risk controls across all business processes and ensure client‑asset protection.

Required profile

• A first degree (or equivalent) in banking, finance, accounting, law, economics or a related field, or a secondary qualification with at least fifteen years of relevant experience.
• Minimum four years of post‑qualification experience in virtual assets, fintech, financial services, AML/CTF, risk management or related areas.
• Demonstrated experience in risk management, fraud prevention, operational or technology risk within fintech, virtual assets, payments or capital markets.
• Familiarity with transaction‑monitoring systems, risk governance and regulatory risk reporting.
• Full‑time availability; Nigerian citizenship preferred (NIN‑eligible).
