Head of Finance Department – Nigeria (Nigerian Nationals Only)

About the role

Solidarités International is seeking a senior finance professional to lead its Nigeria country office finance department. The Head of Finance ensures financial stability, compliance with donor and local regulations, and provides strategic financial guidance to the Country Director.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly accounting, financial close, and ensure quality of general and cost accounting.
• Manage cash flow, approve cash requirements for field offices, and track donor payments.
• Lead budget monitoring, consolidation, and preparation of finance packs for headquarters.
• Coordinate donor reporting, audit processes, and ensure compliance with donor rules.
• Maintain relationships with national authorities, NGOs, and partners; represent the finance function in external meetings.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in an INGO or similar environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Hausa is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software (SAGA preferred).
• Strong financial analysis and budgeting capabilities.
• Experience in donor financial reporting.
