Generator Operator

About the role

Huko Advisory Services is hiring a full-time Generator Operator based in Victoria Island, Lagos. The role covers the control, distribution and maintenance of generators and related electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Control and monitor generators and auxiliary equipment
• Distribute power among generators and regulate their output
• Operate generator panels
• Perform preventive maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of generator systems
• Service generators, including oil changes

Required profile

• Minimum of two years' experience as a generator operator in a facility; experience in the facility management sector is preferred
• Trade test 1-3 certification
• Knowledge of AC/DC power
• Technical knowledge of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures
• Ability to use specialized tools, follow documented procedures and prepare the parts and tools needed for repairs
• Good observation, organizational and communication skills

Required skills

• Solid expertise in electric motors, electrical and mechanical technical skills
• Good knowledge of computerized maintenance systems
