General Finance Specialist – Finance Team

About the role

The General Finance Specialist will monitor financial data, maintain day‑to‑day accounting activities and ensure accurate monthly reporting for Vertiv’s Nigeria operations. Working within a dynamic finance team, the role supports statutory compliance, audit coordination, cash‑flow management and month‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable through the centralized shared services team and perform monthly ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and manage CAPEX tracking in line with local and US GAAP.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, petty‑cash records and daily cash‑balance reporting.
• Prepare and monitor cash‑flow forecasts and actuals.
• Process intercompany billings, foreign supplier invoices and manage POC clearing.
• Prepare month‑end reporting packages, balance‑sheet reconciliations and statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT).
• Liaise with external auditors, prepare audit schedules and support statutory audit processes.
• Perform HFM reporting, journal uploads and margin analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and fully qualified ICAN professional certification.
• 7‑8 years of accounting experience in a multinational or complex business environment.
• Strong experience in month‑end close, financial reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations, tax compliance and audit support.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
