Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor – Junior (Mogadishu)

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a junior Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor to join the core team of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The role focuses on strengthening the capacity of Somalia’s higher education system through gender‑responsive and inclusive interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement gender and social‑inclusion strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Conduct gender analyses, develop policies and action plans to address inequities in higher education.
• Deliver training sessions and awareness campaigns on gender equality and inclusion for project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.
• Provide technical advice to the project team on barriers faced by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in gender studies, sociology, social work, development or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing gender and social‑inclusion strategies in development programmes.
• Demonstrated experience conducting gender analyses and developing related policies.
• Experience designing and delivering training on gender equality and inclusion.
• Familiarity with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.

Required skills

• Training in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion.
• Understanding of barriers faced by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups in accessing education.
