Fraud Investigation Officer

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is Africa’s all‑in‑one financial platform, supporting millions of businesses and individuals with payments, banking, credit and cross‑border services. The Fraud Investigation Officer will investigate suspected fraudulent activities, identify fraud trends, support fund recovery and recommend control improvements to protect the organization and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate fraud cases and determine appropriate outcomes based on available evidence.
• Analyze transaction patterns to identify fraud trends and emerging risks.
• Document investigation findings and maintain accurate case records.
• Support fund recovery efforts by engaging internal and external stakeholders.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk cases in a timely manner.
• Recommend process and control improvements based on investigation findings.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Compliance, Customer Support and other stakeholders to resolve fraud‑related issues.
• Ensure investigations are completed within agreed service levels (SLAs).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 2–4 years of experience in fraud investigations, banking, fintech or a related risk function.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations effectively.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
