Engineer II – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

The Engineer II provides on‑site maintenance and engineering support for a hotel property in Lagos. Working with minimal supervision, the role ensures guest repair requests are resolved quickly and that all building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, visual inspections, and cleaning/lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and document shift activities.
• Carry out repairs on HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and vehicles.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any work.
• Utilise engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management and MEP troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act as Engineer on Duty when required.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Solid knowledge of hotel building systems and safety procedures.
• Experience in mid‑level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Professional appearance and confidentiality handling.
