Engineer II – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

The Engineer II provides on‑site maintenance and repair support for a hotel property in Lagos. Working independently and with minimal supervision, the engineer ensures guest rooms and public areas remain functional, safe, and comfortable.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and building systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handovers.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before servicing equipment.
• Assist with minor construction tasks such as painting, drywall, and wood‑trim repairs.
• Operate and program hotel TV systems and perform general housekeeping‑related duties.
• Serve as Engineer on Duty, conducting rounds and readings of MEP systems.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in hotel or facilities engineering.
• Ability to work independently, follow safety policies, and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Willingness to train and mentor junior engineers.
