Director of Operational Excellence (Remote)

About the role

Trilogy is seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to lead M&A diligence, integration, and P&L ownership for its portfolio of distressed enterprise software companies. This remote, high‑impact position operates without direct reports, focusing on delivering measurable financial results across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead M&A due diligence and integration, coordinating with investment banks, legal advisors, and target C‑suite executives.
• Own quarterly P&L budgets for multi‑product units, identify margin improvement opportunities, and present cost‑reduction strategies to CEOs and CFOs.
• Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to automate vendor spend analysis, build cost models, and generate executive reports.
• Manage the full vendor lifecycle for 70+ contracts, including negotiation, legal review, procurement, invoicing, and termination.
• Serve as the central integration point, aligning Finance, Legal, Engineering, SaaS, HR, and IT functions with operational goals.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently and drive decisions without direct authority.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on financial impact and operational efficiency.
• Experience in high‑velocity M&A environments, preferably within enterprise software or turnaround contexts.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting evidence and influencing senior stakeholders.
