Chinese Translator (Business & Finance)

About the role

We are seeking a professional Chinese Translator to join our team in Benin City, Nigeria. The role serves as the language bridge between our Chinese and Nigerian teams, ensuring clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication across business operations, investment discussions and stakeholder engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business documents—including correspondence, reports, contracts, marketing materials, and internal communications—between Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Provide live interpretation during meetings, negotiations, and stakeholder engagements as required.
• Proofread and edit translations to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate with Investment, Operations, Legal, and other teams to maintain terminology standards.
• Develop and manage bilingual documentation and organizational resources.
• Review source materials and handle multiple translation requests to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Language, International Relations, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Strong bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English—reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Proven professional translation and interpretation experience, preferably in business, finance, legal, real estate, hospitality, or agriculture.
• HSK Level 4 or higher preferred.
• Familiarity with investment, financial services, or corporate terminology is an advantage.
• Must reside in Nigeria, be legally authorized to work, and be willing to travel for negotiations.
• Valid driver’s license.
