Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Finance Leader

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on‑site leadership role based in Abuja, responsible for overseeing the bank’s financial strategy, planning, and performance. The CFO will drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting and ensure regulatory compliance while partnering with the executive team on strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term financial strategies aligned with the bank’s growth objectives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, delivering accurate and timely reports.
• Monitor liquidity, capital adequacy, risk exposures and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Prepare, analyse and present financial statements to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the executive team on strategic initiatives, investor relations and stakeholder communication.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing finance team, establishing robust controls, systems and processes.

Required profile

• Strong finance and financial planning expertise to design and execute financial strategies.
• Proficiency in financial statements preparation and financial reporting.
• Advanced analytical skills for interpreting data and supporting decision‑making.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CFA and a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Significant senior‑level experience in banking or financial services, including regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
