Business Development Manager

About the role

HealthPort Africa is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth of its Oxygen‑as‑a‑Service (OaaS) platform across Lagos and surrounding states. You will lead hospital partnership acquisition, build distributor channels, and liaise with government health officials to ensure reliable oxygen supply.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify 2‑3 anchor hospital partners per state, conduct needs assessments, and negotiate multi‑year OaaS contracts.
• Oversee full onboarding including logistics setup, OxyTrack system integration, staff training, and first delivery within four weeks.
• Maintain ongoing hospital relationships, conduct quarterly reviews, and document performance metrics to uncover expansion opportunities.
• Map and evaluate oxygen distributors, negotiate agreements with pricing, volume, exclusivity and SLA terms, and support their onboarding and monthly performance monitoring.
• Develop relationships with State Ministries of Health, present supply reliability data, and advocate for oxygen infrastructure as an accreditation requirement.
• Confirm state entry readiness, track weekly pipeline metrics, and achieve Year 1 targets of 8 direct hospitals, 2 distributor channels, zero churn and 100% on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development or sales within the healthcare sector.
• Senior‑level qualification with at least a bachelor's degree in a related field.
