About the role
The Audit, Risk and Compliance Governance Business Partner will support Saro Agrosciences Limited in safeguarding inventory, ensuring operational controls, and mitigating fraud risks across its warehouse and supply‑chain functions. This mid‑level position reports to senior management and works closely with logistics, finance, and procurement teams.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and surprise spot checks of warehouses and inventory‑holding locations, verifying physical stock against system records.
- Investigate and report stock shortages, overages, damaged or expired goods, and unexplained variances.
- Validate that all receipts, transfers, dispatches, returns, adjustments, and write‑offs are properly authorised and documented.
- Review warehouse access controls and ensure only authorised personnel have access to inventory areas.
- Assess compliance with stock arrangement, identification, segregation, storage, and handling procedures.
- Participate in periodic and year‑end physical stock counts and independently validate count results.
- Review operational processes across sales, distribution, procurement, logistics, and finance for policy and SOP compliance.
- Identify process gaps, control failures, duplication, inefficiencies, and potential financial loss.
- Monitor delegated authority limits, approval requirements, and high‑value or exceptional transactions.
- Detect indicators of fraud, theft, manipulation, or collusion and escalate significant findings.
- Maintain awareness of regional operational risks and recommend mitigating controls.
- Prepare clear spot‑check and internal control reports and follow up on corrective actions.
Required profile
- Mid‑level professional with at least 36 months (3 years) of relevant experience in audit, risk, or compliance functions.
- Experience conducting inventory verification and warehouse spot checks.
- Ability to analyse documentation, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of operational controls.
