Auditor – Microfinance Institution

About the role

The Victory Empowerment Centre is seeking a diligent Auditor to join its nationwide microfinance operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance and integrity of branch activities, loan portfolios and cash management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic operational, financial and compliance audits of all branch activities.
• Review loan portfolios, cash handling procedures and customer records for accuracy.
• Identify control weaknesses, fraud risks and inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate suspected fraud, policy breaches or operational irregularities.
• Support continuous improvement of internal control systems and risk‑management processes.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of auditing experience within a micro‑finance institution.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit procedures, risk management and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
