Head of Asset Finance

About the role

The Head of Asset Finance will design and lead a full‑stack financing engine for a fast‑growing shared mobility platform operating in major African cities. This senior position is responsible for building the finance function from the ground up, ensuring that fleet partners can access capital efficiently and sustainably.

Key responsibilities

• Establish an institutionalised asset finance function with clear credit, risk and governance frameworks.
• Design and manage debt structures, SPVs and lender relationships to optimise the capital structure.
• Oversee credit architecture, underwriting standards, portfolio risk management and covenant compliance.
• Drive portfolio performance in line with defined risk appetite and growth targets.
• Integrate financing operations with fleet demand planning to enable scalable vehicle deployment.
• Build reporting and governance infrastructure for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in asset finance, credit underwriting and portfolio risk management.
• Strong track record of structuring debt, managing SPVs and negotiating with lenders.
• Ability to create and enforce robust governance, reporting and compliance processes.
• Experience scaling finance capabilities in high‑growth, capital‑intensive environments.
