Collections Officer

About the role

Renmoney is seeking a Collections Officer to join its Credit Risk Management team in Lagos. You will engage directly with customers to assess payment readiness, negotiate repayment plans, and ensure timely collections while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers via phone, email, and face‑to‑face interactions to evaluate their ability to make payments.
• Record daily activity metrics—including calls made, contacts reached, payment promises, and fulfilled promises—using the bank’s Collections system.
• Collaborate with customers to design effective payment plans and settlements that keep accounts current.
• Handle objections and complaints professionally, coordinating with relevant departments to resolve issues.
• Investigate and correct discrepancies in payment schedules and repayment methods.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience in consumer loan operations, preferably in a call‑center or collections environment.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Solid understanding of finance and experience with payment processing systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail with accurate record‑keeping.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
