Head Chef – Hotel Kitchen Leadership in Port Harcourt

About the role

AccorHotel’s Novotel Port Harcourt is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead its culinary operations, delivering authentic Nigerian and international dishes while upholding the highest standards of food safety and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑quality menus featuring Nigerian and classic international/continental cuisine.
• Ensure strict adherence to HACCP standards and food safety regulations.
• Control food costs and oversee menu planning to optimise profitability.
• Lead, train and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and overall operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, HND or professional qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years culinary experience, including 3–5 years in a senior kitchen management role.
• Proven expertise in Nigerian cuisine and classic international/continental cuisine.
• HACCP certification or strong practical knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Demonstrated ability in food cost control, menu planning and staff development.
