Engineer II – Maintenance & Facilities

About the role

The Engineer II provides on‑site maintenance and engineering support for a hotel, responding to guest repair requests and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently. Working with minimal supervision, the role combines preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, equipment, and building systems.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and ensure proper documentation of daily activities.
• Execute basic repairs: PVC/copper pipe work, soldering, plumbing unclogs, electrical switch/outlet replacement, pump and motor swaps, TV programming, and minor carpentry.
• Apply lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Use engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management, and MEP system monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer‑on‑Duty duties, including rounds and readings.
• Adhere to all safety, security, and company policies.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with strong communication skills for guest interaction.
• Solid knowledge of safe hand‑tool and power‑tool usage.
• Basic competency in pipe repair, soldering, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Willingness to train and mentor less‑experienced engineers.
• Commitment to follow safety procedures and maintain professional appearance.
