Senior Finance Officer – Hospital

About the role

An eye hospital in Ikeja is seeking a disciplined, detail‑oriented, and experienced Senior Finance Officer to lead its Accounts Unit and oversee the organization’s financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and management analyses.
• Maintain proper accounting records, monitor cash flow, expenses and overall financial performance.
• Support budgeting, financial planning and provide decision‑making insights.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including PAYE, pension, VAT, WHT and other tax obligations.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Supervise daily accounting operations, reconciliations, invoicing, receipts and ledger management.
• Oversee banking activities, vendor payments and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Lead, train and develop two Accounts Officers, delegating tasks while maintaining accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is an advantage.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• Previous experience leading or supervising finance teams.
• High integrity, strong attention to detail and disciplined organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage accounting application.
• Experience using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other accounting software.
