Sales Director – FMCG

About the role

The Sales Director will act as the chief commercial architect for Johnvents FMCG, shaping the long‑term vision and driving national market dominance of the product portfolio. This senior executive position bridges the Group Board’s strategic direction with operational realities across Nigeria’s fast‑moving consumer goods landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Define and champion a long‑term commercial roadmap focused on market‑share expansion and brand equity growth.
• Transform the sales division into a technology‑enabled, high‑velocity commercial powerhouse.
• Identify and secure high‑value business development opportunities and institutional partnerships.
• Hold full P&L accountability for the sales division, managing multi‑billion naira budgets and trade investments.
• Provide strategic reporting on market trends, competitive positioning, and commercial performance to the Board.
• Design and implement an adaptive route‑to‑market strategy balancing large distributors with micro‑distribution models.
• Lead negotiations with national distributors, modern trade chains, and HORECA partners.
• Ensure operational synergy between sales, supply chain, and production planning to avoid stockouts.
• Build a high‑performance leadership pipeline and foster a culture of integrity and commercial aggression.
• Drive digital transformation, ensuring regional hubs use real‑time data for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in FMCG, with at least 8 years in senior executive roles such as Sales Director, Country Head, or Commercial Director.
• Proven track record of managing national P&L and delivering consistent double‑digit revenue growth in Nigeria.
• Master’s degree or MBA from a top‑tier institution preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field mandatory.
