Group Head, Retail Sales

About the role

The Group Head, Retail Sales will lead the retail sales function for a leading asset management and securities firm in West Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape strategy, drive growth and ensure compliance across all retail channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a retail sales strategy aligned with overall growth objectives and market positioning.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, client needs and competitive opportunities.
• Collaborate with product, marketing and digital teams to keep retail offerings innovative and competitive.
• Set and monitor ambitious sales targets, oversee campaigns and optimise sales processes.
• Manage multi‑channel sales strategies, including direct, digital, advisers and third‑party distributors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail clients and distribution partners.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, working closely with risk and legal teams.

Required profile

• MSc/MBA in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in retail sales, asset management or financial services.
• Proven track record of leading successful retail sales teams and delivering sustained growth.
• Strong knowledge of investment products, retail distribution channels and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
