Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

We are seeking a commercially astute and detail‑oriented Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects. The successful candidate will manage project lifecycles from initial cost estimation through to final accounts, ensuring rigorous cost control and strict adherence to contract administration standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) from engineering designs and specifications.
• Prepare, review and process Interim Payment Certificates (IPC) and manage the timely submission of final accounts.
• Document extra works and site variations to prevent revenue loss.
• Conduct on‑site measurements and valuations of completed works.
• Monitor project costs, track budget variations and audit material consumption against targets.
• Support vendor procurement, manage contract administration and ensure compliance with legal frameworks.
• Evaluate subcontractor claims, verify on‑site progress and certify accurate payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in construction cost management, covering pre‑ and post‑contract operations.
• Professional membership with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC or similar standard construction contracts.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with measurement/estimating software such as PlanSwift, QS CAD or Bluebeam.
