Facility Officer – Building & Infrastructure Management

About the role

We are looking for a Facility Officer to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings and infrastructure in Lagos. The role ensures a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment for all staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate installations such as plumbing, HVAC, and electricity, as well as refurbishments.
• Manage facilities, equipment, and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
• Inspect building structures and determine repair or renovation needs.
• Monitor utilities consumption and implement cost‑saving measures.
• Supervise facilities staff and external contractors, ensuring performance expectations are met.
• Oversee staff accommodation, fleet management, parking allocation, waste disposal, and building security.
• Maintain up‑to‑date insurance coverage for all assets.
• Forecast future facility needs, conduct analysis, and produce maintenance reports.
• Collaborate with the Operations and Facility Manager to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• BSc in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Facility Officer.
• Professional HSE certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of technical/engineering operations and facilities management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, reporting, and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Understanding of risk management and finance principles.
• Ability to perform cost‑comparative analysis.
• Familiarity with legal guidelines for security, public health and safety.
• First Aid treatment capability.
