Policy and Government Engagement Support (6-month contract)

About the role

The Policy and Government Engagement Support role assists Evidence Action Nigeria in building and maintaining relationships with government stakeholders to promote evidence‑based policy change. Working on a six‑month fixed‑term contract, the position conducts policy research, coordinates engagements, and creates communication materials that translate research findings into actionable insights for decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desktop research on relevant policies, programs and legislative developments, synthesize findings and prepare policy briefs for internal and external audiences.
• Secure and coordinate meetings with ministries, agencies and other government officials; develop briefing notes, talking points and presentations for policy dialogues.
• Document all engagement activities, maintain a database of policy resources and stakeholder contacts, and track outcomes of advocacy efforts.
• Prepare and format presentation templates and briefing materials, ensuring alignment with Evidence Action’s branding and messaging.

Required profile

• Approximately two years of experience persuading stakeholders face‑to‑face, such as in sales, business development, account management or similar roles, with demonstrable results.
• Proven ability to open closed doors, manage client relationships and drive decisions through complex organisations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to translate technical evidence into clear policy recommendations.
