Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director will provide overall leadership, strategy execution and stakeholder engagement for United Way Greater Nigeria, ensuring the mission, values and strategic plan are delivered effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership and translate the organization’s mission into measurable outcomes.
• Lead execution of board‑approved strategies across programmes, operations and partnerships.
• Develop and maintain high‑level relationships with donors, private sector, government and civil society.
• Represent the organization at national, regional and international forums.
• Oversee organizational performance, risk management, compliance and internal controls.
• Drive fundraising, donor engagement and partnership development, including proposal development and negotiations.

Required profile

• First degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Management, International Relations or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years senior leadership experience in non‑profit or development organisations.
• Proven track record of engaging donors, boards and high‑level stakeholders.
• Strong strategic, financial and people leadership capabilities.
• Excellent communication, public speaking and community engagement skills.
