National Fleet Monitoring Officer

About the role

The National Fleet Monitoring Officer will oversee real‑time monitoring and reporting of all transportation assets across Nigeria. Based in Lagos, the role ensures operational visibility, driver compliance, and timely intelligence to support efficient fleet operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time movement and utilization of trucks, vans, cars and other fleet vehicles nationwide.
• Track driver adherence to approved routes, schedules, delivery timelines and company transport policies.
• Detect, investigate and report route deviations, unauthorized stops, excessive idle time, speeding and other irregularities.
• Produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly fleet monitoring reports for business planning.
• Analyze fleet movement data and provide actionable insights to improve utilization and delivery efficiency.
• Coordinate with transport managers, regional teams, warehouses and drivers to resolve operational issues promptly.
• Monitor vehicle availability to ensure optimal deployment of assets.
• Escalate security incidents, breakdowns, accidents and other transport‑related risks.
• Maintain records and dashboards of fleet movements, activities and key performance indicators.
• Support route optimisation initiatives through data analysis.
• Ensure compliance with transport policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Recommend continuous improvements to monitoring processes and reporting systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management or Business Administration.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and generate insights.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with multiple stakeholders.
