Head of Supply – FMCG (Nigeria)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Supply to lead end‑to‑end supply chain and manufacturing operations for a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) client in Lagos, Nigeria. The role will oversee production planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics and distribution while ensuring cost, quality and service‑level targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supply chain and manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth and timely supply of products.
• Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, material availability, and production schedules.
• Manage procurement, inventory planning, warehousing, logistics and distribution activities.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve cost efficiency, service levels, inventory turns and operational productivity.
• Ensure optimum availability of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and critical supplies.
• Manage logistics operations including inbound/outbound transportation, fleet/3PL coordination, warehousing and last‑mile distribution.
• Monitor inventory levels, stock ageing, slow‑moving inventory and working capital.
• Drive S&OP, demand and supply planning in coordination with Sales, Finance, Manufacturing and other functions.
• Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve OTIF, lead times and order fulfilment.
• Develop and monitor key operational KPIs such as OTIF, inventory days, forecast accuracy, production efficiency, logistics cost and warehouse performance.
• Lead and develop supply chain, manufacturing, warehouse and logistics teams.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory and company standards across operations.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, distributors and other key stakeholders.
• Drive process improvement, cost reduction, automation and operational excellence initiatives.
• Prepare regular MIS and performance reports for senior management and provide insights for business decisions.

Required profile

• 12+ years of overall experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Logistics or related functions.
• Proven experience handling end‑to‑end supply chain operations with significant exposure to manufacturing.
• Strong background in production planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing and logistics/distribution.
• Experience managing large teams and multiple operational stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of S&OP, demand planning, inventory management and supply chain KPIs.
• Track record of cost optimisation, process improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Exposure to ERP/SAP or other supply chain management systems is preferred.
