Head of Human Resources

About the role

The Head of Human Resources will lead the HR function for a manufacturing and warehousing organization in Lagos. Reporting to executive management, this senior role is responsible for shaping people strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the HR department, providing direction across all HR functions.
• Advise senior management on workforce planning, organisational structure and people‑related strategies.
• Design and manage recruitment, onboarding and talent pipelines for production, operations, sales and corporate roles.
• Oversee performance management, learning & development, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
• Handle employee and industrial relations, grievance investigations and workplace conflict resolution.
• Review compensation structures, administer payroll and benefits in partnership with Finance.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws, maintain accurate HR records and produce workforce analytics.
• Collaborate with Health, Safety & Environment teams to promote employee wellbeing and safety.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 84 months (7 years) of HR experience.
• Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
• Strong leadership and advisory skills for senior executives.
• In‑depth knowledge of Nigerian labour legislation and HR best practices.
