Human Resources Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and results‑driven Human Resources Officer to lead the HR function at our plastic manufacturing facility in Lagos. The role covers recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance and general HR administration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, including advertising, screening, interviewing, onboarding and documentation.
• Maintain employee records, personnel files and the staff nominal roll.
• Oversee probation reviews, confirmations, leave administration, attendance monitoring, disciplinary actions, promotions and exits.
• Coordinate performance management activities such as KPI administration, appraisals and salary review recommendations.
• Organise staff training, induction programmes and employee engagement initiatives.
• Handle employee relations, grievance management, conflict resolution and provide HR guidance.
• Liaise with department heads on workforce planning and manpower requirements.
• Monitor attendance, absenteeism, overtime and leave records, and prepare periodic HR reports.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and Nigerian labour laws, keeping documentation ready for inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–3 years relevant HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict‑resolution and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
