Head of Finance (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function for a manufacturing business, shaping financial strategy and ensuring robust financial controls. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with cross‑functional teams to drive profitability and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals and growth plans.
• Lead accounting operations, financial policies, systems, and internal controls.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, working capital and financial planning.
• Prepare and present timely financial reports, management accounts and performance insights to leadership.
• Monitor costs, product costing, inventory and profitability, driving cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with tax, financial reporting and statutory requirements, including audit coordination.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management and fraud prevention across financial operations.
• Provide financial guidance on pricing, investments, capital expenditure, procurement and major business decisions.
• Partner with Sales, Production, Procurement, HR and Operations to improve business and financial performance.
• Deliver strategic financial insights that support long‑term growth, profitability and sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; Master’s/MBA is an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or ACA is mandatory.
• Minimum 7‑8 years progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Experience in an industrial environment, preferably construction, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, cost accounting and inventory management.

• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
