Head of Credit – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

The Head of Credit will own CredPal’s credit strategy, underwriting framework and portfolio performance across both consumer and business lending. This senior position balances growth, risk, customer experience and profitability while scaling the lending portfolio responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall credit strategy for consumer and business products.
• Own portfolio growth, quality, profitability and risk‑adjusted returns.
• Develop and continuously refine credit policies, underwriting standards and risk‑appetite frameworks.
• Oversee underwriting, scorecard development, decision rules and automated decisioning.
• Establish portfolio monitoring, early‑warning systems and stress‑testing processes.
• Partner with product, data, engineering and collections teams to drive responsible expansion and improve recovery outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Statistics or a related discipline; postgraduate degree is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in credit, lending, risk, portfolio management or underwriting with significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience managing sizable credit portfolios in banking, fintech or financial services and delivering sustainable growth.

Required skills

• Strong analytical capability with proficiency in Excel.
• Experience working with Business Intelligence tools and SQL.
• Ability to translate credit data into actionable insights and recommendations.
