General Manager – Polypropylene Plant Operations

About the role

The General Manager – Polypropylene Plant will lead the end‑to‑end operations of Dangote’s polypropylene facility, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient production while supporting the company’s petrochemical growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of the polypropylene plant, delivering production targets with high product quality and strict safety and environmental compliance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Utilities, Quality and Technical Services.
• Optimize plant availability, throughput, yields, energy efficiency and manufacturing costs.
• Develop and execute maintenance, reliability and turnaround strategies to protect asset integrity and minimise unplanned downtime.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and overall plant performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, health, safety and environmental requirements and foster a strong process‑safety culture.
• Prepare annual operating plans, budgets and capital‑expenditure forecasts while controlling costs.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain and Logistics to align production with customer demand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in petrochemical, refining or chemical manufacturing operations.
• At least 10 years in senior operational leadership roles within a large continuous‑process environment.
• Proven experience managing polypropylene or similar processing facilities is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary operations, maintenance and engineering teams.
