Sanitation Inspector – Food Safety & Hygiene

About the role

The Sanitation Inspector ensures that plant and equipment hygiene standards are met through routine inspections, monitoring cleaning activities, and enforcing food safety and sanitation requirements within the flour milling operation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine hygiene and sanitation inspections to verify compliance with GMP, food safety, and company standards.
• Inspect delivery trucks, bulk tankers, and storage areas for cleanliness and food safety compliance.
• Validate cleaning and sanitation of milling, packing, and related equipment before production starts.
• Perform pre‑operational hygiene checks on production areas and equipment.
• Monitor personnel hygiene, housekeeping, waste management, and overall sanitation practices across the facility.
• Maintain sanitation records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Escalate sanitation, food safety, and pest‑related concerns to Quality Assurance leadership promptly.
• Identify and report hygiene deficiencies, contamination risks, and GMP violations.

Required profile

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene management systems.
• Practical experience in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and sanitation operations.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Minimum of five O’Level credits including Mathematics and English in a Science discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in manufacturing, food processing, or flour milling.
