Entry-Level Legal Officer – Corporate & Commercial

About the role

We are seeking a sharp, detail‑oriented entry‑level Legal Officer to join Sohcahtoa Holdings’ legal team. This role offers the opportunity to develop core legal skills while supporting corporate and commercial matters across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and vet basic legal documents such as NDAs, vendor contracts, service agreements and internal memoranda.
• Maintain a centralized contract register and ensure proper filing of executed agreements.
• Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations and case law relevant to the group’s operations.
• Prepare draft legal opinions, research notes and summaries for senior counsel review.
• Assist in preparing board resolutions, meeting minutes and statutory filings.
• Support the upkeep of statutory books, registers and corporate records for group entities.
• Help manage disputes and litigation matters by preparing documentation and maintaining case files.
• Liaise with external counsel and internal teams as directed by senior legal staff.
• Track changes in laws and regulations affecting the group’s activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from an accredited institution.
• Call to the Nigerian Bar and membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) are mandatory.
• Additional certifications in corporate law, compliance or related areas are an advantage.
• Strong interest in legal research and analysis.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
