Electrical Technician – Assistant Technical (Industrial)

About the role

The Electrical Technician – Assistant Technical supports the electrical maintenance team in a steel production environment. You will interpret electrical drawings, design circuits, and ensure safe operation of motors, transformers and control systems. The role requires active participation in shift breakdowns and continuous improvement of equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Study and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, transformers, MCCs, conveyors and related safety devices.
• Design and prepare electrical circuits according to operational requirements.
• Perform condition‑based maintenance (CBM) on electrical equipment.
• Handle shift breakdowns, issue work permits and apply positive isolation procedures.
• Support basic safety awareness and guide colleagues on electrical safety practices.

Required profile

• Valid ELBO (Electrical Licensing Board) license.
• Ability to work in shift patterns and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Strong understanding of power system protection and plant interlocks.
