About the role
The Driver will provide safe, timely, and professional transportation of staff, visitors, goods and equipment for CRS in Bauchi. The role ensures vehicles are road‑worthy, well‑maintained and used in compliance with CRS policies and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Transport staff, visitors, goods and equipment according to CRS procedures.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections (tires, engine, fluids, brakes, seatbelts, battery, etc.) and ensure vehicles are clean, fueled and equipped with safety items.
- Record trips, fuel usage and inspections in the m‑VMS/VMS system and submit reports on time.
- Report accidents, mechanical faults, security incidents or other concerns to the Head Driver or Fleet Manager.
- Support preventive maintenance, perform minor adjustments or emergency repairs as needed.
- Use approved routes, GPS, maps and communication tools for efficient movement.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods, luggage and equipment.
- Promote eco‑friendly driving practices and maintain professionalism with all stakeholders.
Required profile
- Trade school certificate (NBTE, NABTEB, Federal Ministry of Trade) is a plus.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging operational environments.
- Previous experience with humanitarian or development organisations.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
Required skills
- GPS navigation and map reading.
- Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
- Record‑keeping in m‑VMS/VMS system.
- Fuel usage tracking.
