Driver – Kaduna (Field Only)

About the role

The Driver will provide safe, timely, and professional transportation of staff, visitors, goods, and equipment for CRS in Kaduna. The role involves daily vehicle inspections, route planning, and ensuring compliance with CRS safety and operational procedures while supporting field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff, visitors, and cargo according to CRS policies and daily assignments.
• Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections (tires, fluids, brakes, battery, safety equipment) and report any issues.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and required safety items (spare tire, first‑aid kit, communication tools).
• Record trips, fuel usage, and inspections in the m‑VMS/VMS system and submit reports on time.
• Report accidents, mechanical faults, or security incidents to the Head Driver, Fleet Officer, or Fleet Manager.
• Support preventive maintenance and perform minor emergency repairs when needed.
• Use approved routes, GPS, maps, and communication devices to ensure efficient movement.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods, luggage, and equipment.
• Promote eco‑friendly driving practices and maintain professionalism with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Trade school certificate (NBTE, NABTEB, Federal Ministry of Trade, etc.) is a plus.
• Good written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to work in challenging operational environments.
• Previous experience with humanitarian or development organizations.
• Attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation.
• Experience using m‑VMS/VMS vehicle management systems.
