Data Entry Officer – Hybrid (Abuja, Nigeria)

About the role
The Data Entry Officer ensures merchant data is accurately entered and maintained in the Moniebook platform, supporting fast onboarding and reliable reporting for retail customers. Working closely with Onboarding Specialists and Account Managers, you will keep data clean, up‑to‑date, and ready for day‑one operations.
Key responsibilities
- Input, update, and maintain merchant data, including product catalogues, SKUs, pricing, inventory levels, and customer profiles.
- Process bulk data imports from spreadsheets and CSV files, validating format and completeness before upload.
- Ensure all records follow Moniebook’s data standards and naming conventions.
- Prepare merchant accounts ahead of onboarding by populating required product, inventory, and configuration data within agreed timelines.
- Review merchant‑submitted data templates for errors or missing fields and follow up to resolve gaps.
- Support the setup of catalogue structures, tax configurations, and payment settings as directed by the Onboarding team.
- Conduct data validation checks to identify and correct errors, duplicates, or outdated records.
- Cross‑reference data across spreadsheets, CRM, and POS backend to ensure consistency.
- Flag and document data anomalies, routing them to the appropriate team for resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of data entry activities, import logs, and correction history in the CRM.
- Document common errors and resolutions to build a shared knowledge base.
- Identify recurring workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements to the Operations lead.
- Fulfil ad‑hoc data requests from Onboarding Specialists, Account Managers, and Support teams within SLA windows.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather missing customer information.
Required profile
- Collaborate effectively with Onboarding Specialists and Account Managers.
- Meet agreed onboarding timelines for data preparation.
- Maintain accurate records of data activities and corrections.
- Identify and report data anomalies promptly.
Required skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software (Excel) and CSV file handling.
- Experience processing bulk data imports.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Knowledge of POS backend systems.
- Strong data validation and quality‑assurance capabilities.
