Commercial Manager – Retail (Adidas & Puma)

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the full merchandise lifecycle for a multi‑channel retail business that includes own stores, franchise, e‑commerce and omnichannel fulfilment. Reporting to the Business Head, the role is responsible for making daily commercial decisions on buying, pricing, allocation and markdowns to drive profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end seasonal buying and assortment planning across all channels and categories, including OTB management and demand forecasting.
• Monitor in‑season trading performance, analyse sales and inventory data, and implement corrective actions to maximise full‑price sell‑through.
• Lead allocation, replenishment and inventory balancing across stores, e‑commerce and fulfilment points, ensuring optimal stock availability.
• Drive omnichannel merchandising initiatives, supporting new store openings, dark‑store setups and cross‑functional projects.
• Develop and execute markdown and promotional strategies aligned with brand guidelines and commercial targets.
• Build and maintain the analytical infrastructure and team capability that underpins commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven senior commercial leadership experience in a fast‑moving retail environment.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to make data‑driven buying, pricing and allocation decisions.
• Excellent analytical mindset and experience managing demand forecasting and inventory optimisation.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of planners, buyers and allocators.
• Experience working across multiple retail channels including brick‑and‑mortar, franchise and e‑commerce.
