Workshop & Field Engineer – Maintenance Operations

About the role

The Workshop and Field Engineer will ensure all maintenance and repair activities in both the workshop and field are performed efficiently and safely. The role involves supervising daily performance, managing equipment availability, and coordinating spare parts usage for the cane yard and factory operations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate maintenance work to ensure completion within established time frames using PM module and fleet tracking reports.
• Oversee Superintendent day‑to‑day target performance and report efficiency to the department head.
• Maintain a high equipment availability rate for field and factory operations.
• Monitor workshop activities, troubleshoot unresolved problems quickly, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review daily intervention and breakdown reports and submit them for final comments.
• Coordinate incoming work with existing workload while ensuring compliance with maintenance, reliability and inspection standards.
• Track daily spares consumption, approve OEM spares, and ensure 100% utilization of spare parts.
• Perform random equipment checks to detect faults before delivery from the workshop.

Required profile

• Minimum HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of field operation experience maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, harvesters and related equipment.
• Relevant professional certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Operation of preventive maintenance (PM) modules and fleet tracking systems.
• Management of OEM spare parts and inventory control.
• Troubleshooting and repair of heavy machinery and harvesters.
• Conducting equipment inspections and performance checks.
