Electrical Engineer Graduate Trainee (Plant and Equipment)

About the role

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is recruiting young electrical engineers for its Electrical Engineer Graduate Trainee Programme in the Plant and Equipment Department. The training is hands-on and covers maintenance, troubleshooting, installations and commissioning. Applications close on November 13, 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Support electrical supervisors, engineers and workshop teams in planning and carrying out electrical work
• Assist with electrical maintenance, installation planning and daily work schedules
• Take part in diagnostics, troubleshooting and fault-finding
• Support electrical inspections, measurements, functional testing and quality checks
• Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
• Support calculations and equipment sizing for power supply, cabling and protection devices
• Gain hands-on exposure to generators, electrical machines, control systems and power distribution
• Take part in installations, testing and commissioning
• Support HSE compliance, risk assessments and safety inspections
• Help prepare technical estimates, material requirements and cost evaluations
• Identify and verify electrical spare parts and components, and keep inspection, test and training records
• Join theoretical training, practical assignments, rotations and assessments, and support technical investigations and failure analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline
• 0 to 1 year of work experience
• Age of not more than 26 years
• Recent graduate or early-career professional with relevant technical interest and aptitude
• Internal candidates with relevant engineering qualifications and previous workshop experience in the Plant and Equipment Department are particularly encouraged
