Umbilical Project Engineer (Expatriate)

About the role

The Umbilical Project Engineer will lead the safe and timely delivery of umbilical work scopes, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, contractual obligations, quality standards, and project schedules. This expatriate position requires coordination across engineering, qualification, procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and pre‑commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑award technical support, manage tenderer queries, and ensure robust technical design dossiers.
• Coordinate fabrication site visits, audits, and prepare technical evaluation reports for bidder selection.
• Oversee post‑award delivery, monitor engineering changes, and guarantee technical assurance throughout execution.
• Review engineering, qualification, and procurement documentation to maintain priority and compliance.
• Support manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and pre‑commissioning, resolving technical issues as needed.
• Manage interface requirements and contractor technical queries, ensuring timely and consistent responses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in delivering umbilical or similar offshore engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, technical clarification, and tender evaluation.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and manage technical risks.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with contractors, internal teams, and authorities.
