Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, verification and delivery of static equipment, HVAC and piping systems for HA/HB projects and assets. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, maintainable solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, HVAC and piping systems and produce detailed specifications and models.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables such as drawings, datasheets, E‑3D models and calculation reports from contractors.
• Participate in project reviews including constructability, layout, HAZOP and SIL classification.
• Verify contractor designs against integrity, reliability, operability and maintainability criteria.
• Support fabrication, testing, installation, shop and field acceptance testing, and commissioning of static equipment.
• Develop pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up plans and assist asset teams in troubleshooting equipment performance.
• Coordinate with process, materials, corrosion, civil, safety and quality disciplines and manage vendor interactions.
• Coach and mentor junior mechanical engineers and trainees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Membership of NSE and COREN.
• 8‑10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably with offshore platforms, FPSOs or on‑shore terminals.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ISO, API, ASME and ASHRAE design standards for static equipment, piping and HVAC.
• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and E‑3D PDMS modeling tools.
• Expertise in pressure vessel, heat exchanger, tank, HVAC and piping design and equipment modelling.
• Experience in shop and field acceptance testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up planning.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, conduct performance tests and coordinate with vendors.
