Transaction Management Officer

About the role

The unit manages syndicated and bilateral loans originated by Corporate and Investment Banking, ensuring proper implementation and execution after disbursement to mitigate transaction risk and operational losses. It also supports deal structuring and manages the operational side of on-lending funds used to fund or refinance facilities in Personal, Business and Corporate and Investment Banking. The position is based in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Support business in structuring transactions so they can be executed and managed from disbursement to final maturity, and provide periodic loan and advance status reports.
• Monitor conditions precedent to drawdown and coordinate the sign-off of drawdown instructions from Business, Credit and Legal.
• Manage loans and advances to minimise losses, ensure obligations are met and keep loan data accurate.
• Ensure the bank meets its obligations to development finance institutions (FMO, IFC, DEG, EIB, AfdB, BOI, DBN) regarding covenants and debt payments.
• Administer special government funding schemes such as CACS, NIRSAL, MSMEDF, RSSF, MOFI and FHFL, and submit timely returns to fund providers.
• Monitor and report covenant breaches to ALCO and management through a monthly Financial Ratio report.

Required profile

• BSc in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in financial services or banking, preferably in loans administration or middle office.
• Exposure to credit analysis and credit risk management, and good knowledge of investment banking, international trade and related products.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, CIMA or ICAN ACA are an added advantage.
