Technical Sales Manager – Renewable Energy

About the role

Our client, a renewable energy solutions provider, is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to drive growth in solar and mini‑grid projects across Nigeria. The role combines business development, technical assessment and partnership management to expand the company’s clean‑energy portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and finance solar mini‑grid projects, conducting feasibility studies and stakeholder engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, financiers, communities, EPC partners and equipment suppliers.
• Lead proposal development, including RFP responses, concept notes and business cases.
• Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate project viability, cost estimates and technical requirements.
• Design and execute go‑to‑market strategies for new solar products and services.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory frameworks to inform strategic direction.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and stakeholder forums.
• Prepare reports, presentations and financial projections for management and investors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in business development, project management or commercial operations within the solar or power sector.
• Proven experience in mini‑grid project development, including site identification and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of solar technologies, energy system design and the regulatory environment in Nigeria or Africa.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation abilities.
• Analytical and financial modelling skills for project evaluation.
