Technical Program Manager – Deployments
Zipline
Job description
About the role
Zipline is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead end‑to‑end execution of its Nigeria deployment program. You will own the integrated deployment plan, operating cadence, tools and processes that turn a complex portfolio of launches into predictable, repeatable execution.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Nigeria deployment operating system and master plan across multiple concurrent distribution‑center launches.
- Build and maintain integrated schedules linking construction, procurement, shipping, hardware commissioning, regulatory approvals, software readiness, operations readiness, hiring, training and launch execution.
- Drive cross‑functional execution across engineering, supply chain, construction, logistics, regulatory, operations, finance and country teams.
- Identify risks early, ensure clear ownership and escalation paths, and serve as the central coordination point during commissioning and launch windows.
- Develop repeatable planning tools, stage‑gates, dashboards, templates, playbooks and readiness checklists for global use.
- Run weekly program reviews, executive status updates, risk reviews and post‑launch retrospectives.
Required profile
- 6+ years leading complex technical, operational, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, deployment or supply‑chain programs.
- Proven track record managing large cross‑functional programs with long‑lead dependencies and accountability for schedule, quality and cost.
- Experience launching complex physical infrastructure or real‑world operational systems, preferably in Nigeria or a comparable environment.
- Strong program‑management fundamentals: integrated planning, critical‑path management, risk mitigation, dependency management and escalation frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively across global, cross‑cultural teams and translate on‑the‑ground realities into global requirements.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with program and scheduling tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira or Airtable.
- Experience building dashboards that track KPIs and using AI tools for program management.
- Clear, concise communication skills for simplifying technical complexity and coordinating large cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
