Surf Umbilical Project Engineer

About the role

The Surf Umbilical Project Engineer will lead technical and contractual activities for umbilical projects, ensuring that design, fabrication, and delivery meet project requirements and local approvals. This role bridges engineering, procurement, and construction teams to deliver robust, compliant umbilical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑award technical support, coordinate clarifications, and assist contractual negotiations with tenderers.
• Monitor tenderer queries, qualifications, and company responses to ensure timely closure.
• Validate technical design dossiers, scope of work, and interface requirements for selected bidders.
• Prepare technical evaluation reports and support post‑award delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and schedule.
• Manage engineering development, technical changes, deviations, and ensure engineering maturity before qualification and fabrication.
• Support manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and pre‑commissioning activities, resolving technical issues as needed.
• Coordinate contractor technical queries, consolidate feedback, and maintain interface tracking with the Package Interface Engineer.
• Work with QA/QC teams to supervise umbilical fabrication and identify schedule‑critical activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in umbilical or subsea project engineering.
• Strong technical and contractual negotiation skills.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage technical documentation.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes and engineering maturity assessments.
